This is a simplified version of the traditional four-row African Mancala games, like Hus and Bao, designed for quick and fun play.
Setup & Objective
- The board has 32 pits (4 rows of 8). Each player controls the two rows closest to them (16 pits).
- Each pit starts with 2 seeds. P1 (bottom) goes first.
- Objective: Capture the most seeds.
Movement (Sowing)
- Choose any pit on your side with 2 or more seeds.
- Pick up **all** seeds from that pit and distribute them one-by-one into consecutive pits in a **counter-clockwise direction.**
- **You only sow on your own 16 pits.** Do not drop seeds in the opponent's territory.
- Your turn ends when your hand is empty.
Capture Rule (Kids' Rule)
- Capture occurs only if your **last seed** lands in an **empty pit** (making the pit contain 1 seed) in your **closest row** (the row nearest to you: pits 8-15 for P1, pits 24-31 for P2).
- If this happens, you capture all seeds from the **two pits directly opposite** in the opponent's territory.
- Captured seeds are removed from the board and added to your score.
Winning the Game
- The game ends when one player **cannot make a legal move** (all pits on their side have 0 or 1 seed).
- The player who can still move captures all remaining seeds on the board and adds them to their score.
- The player with the **highest total score** wins!
